Bad News for Arsenal:Saka's injury explained and time likely to be out https://nairobiinsights.co.ke/bad-news-for-arsenalsakas-injury-explained-and-time-likely-to-be-out https://nairobiinsights.co.ke/bad-news-for-arsenalsakas-injury-explained-and-time-likely-to-be-out Bukayo Saka left the field early in the first half with a hamstring injury.

Just like a previous hamstring injury while playing for England, it looked like he did his hamstring while putting a cross in.

Hamstring injuries are one of the more frequent and recurring injuries for football injuries. He was seen clutching the lower hamstring muscle here.

It's extremely hard to predict time-length of muscle injuries based on video, but the reaction and the use of crutches points towards at least a muscle strain, rather than tightness.

This is more likely a grade 1/2 hamstring strain. Would be very unlucky if he suffered a grade 3, but that is more correlated with injuries higher up on the hamstring.

Possible Recovery Times:

Grade 1: 2-4 weeks

Grade 2: 4-6 weeks

Grade 3: 8-10 weeks

Scans will be necessary to confirm the severity of the injury. Hopefully, it isn't too bad.

Woman Who Sold Fruits to Raise University Fees Finally Graduates with Second Class Upper https://nairobiinsights.co.ke/woman-who-sold-fruits-to-raise-university-fees-finally-graduates-with-second-class-upper https://nairobiinsights.co.ke/woman-who-sold-fruits-to-raise-university-fees-finally-graduates-with-second-class-upper Many students from underprivileged backgrounds face significant challenges in university, struggling to afford food, shelter, and school fees.

For some, these hardships lead to dropping out.

However, Judith Gimbo, a 24-year-old graduate from Kyambogo University, defied the odds and turned her story into one of triumph.

Gimbo recently earned a Second Class Upper Degree in Bachelor of Business Education after years of financial struggles.

Her success was made possible through her determination and resilience, as she sold jackfruits in her community to fund her education.

Her financial challenges began after the passing of her father, Elieza Bumba, who was the family’s sole breadwinner.

His death left Gimbo, her siblings, and their mother in a difficult situation, forcing them to fend for themselves.

Despite these hurdles, Gimbo refused to let her circumstances define her future. She decided to take charge of her destiny by working hard to fund her studies.

“It was not easy balancing my education and hustling for school fees,” Gimbo shared during an interview. “But I knew education was my only way out of poverty.”

Her journey was not without sacrifices. Juggling academics and vending jackfruits required unwavering determination, but her perseverance has now paid off.

As a graduate, Gimbo aspires to inspire others in her community, proving that no dream is too big with hard work and bravery.

She hopes her story will motivate others facing similar challenges to push through and achieve their goals.

Looking ahead, Gimbo dreams of building a home for her family to give them a better life and a decent place to live.

Her remarkable journey is a testament to the power of resilience and determination.

Govt Warns Kenyans Against Using Sure Condoms https://nairobiinsights.co.ke/govt-warns-kenyans-against-using-sure-condoms https://nairobiinsights.co.ke/govt-warns-kenyans-against-using-sure-condoms The Pharmacy and Poisons Board has recalled a batch of Sure lubricated condoms citing quality issues.

As a result, the body is ordering Kenyans to stop using the product. Sure condoms are distributed in public hospitals, schools, and health centers for free under the government programme to reduce the prevalence of HIV and AIDS and to curb STDs.

In a statement on Wednesday, December 11, the Board stated that the product sample tested did not meet the quality standards.

According to the Poisons Board, the affected condoms are drawn from Batch Number 2405055.

The Pharmacy and Poisons Board draws public attention to the recall of the substandard sure-lubricated condoms dotted, Batch No. 2405055,” noted the statement signed by PPB CEO Dr Fred Siyoi.

He added, “The product samples did not comply with the specifications for the freedom from holes (conductivity) test performed.”

Siyoi directed that all pharmaceutical outlets, healthcare facilities, healthcare professionals, and members of the public immediately seize the further distribution, sale, issuance, or use of the affected product batch.

According to Siyoi, anyone with condoms should return them to their nearest healthcare facility or respective suppliers.

Kenya has an estimated annual demand for 424 million condoms, according to health officials and organisations addressing sexual health. On average, Kenyan men use about 14 condoms per year, which this far below the recommended 40.

This is not the first time the government has issued a recall of condoms. In October 2019, Kenya Medical Supplies Authority (Kemsa) issued a recall of batches of its condoms over concerns about the "quality issues" of the products.

"Please accord Lifeline Laboratories the necessary operation in order to successfully conclude the process," KEMSA quality assurance manager Dr John Aduda stated.

The products affected are batch numbers 17DN754 and 17DN052, and the expiry date of the affected batches are between December 2021 and December 2022.
