President Ruto Reveals His Next Assignment after Finishing His Term in Office

After completing his term in office, President Ruto discloses his next project.
President William Ruto says he intends to embark on evangelism after his retirement.

After his term as president ends, President William Ruto says he would start a full-time evangelistic business.

Speaking on Sunday, September 1, during a church service in Bungoma, the president acknowledged that he possesses the qualities of a gospel minister by nature.

Ruto implied that he has been somewhat practicing while carrying out his official duties when he stated that his history in Christianity gives him the best fit for the evangelistic job.

"I am an evangelist, and many people sometimes wonder why I stand in raised places, sometimes on top of cars, because when your orientation is an evangelist, you always behave like one, even when you are doing other things. And by the way, I have given the commitment that when I finish my tour of duty as president, I will go back to be an evangelist, because that is my original calling," he said.

The president will undoubtedly defend his term in the upcoming referendum, even though he avoided the subject.

There have been rumors in the previous several days that Ruto is shifting to better defend his seat.

Political seers have identified one of his initiatives as his newfound friendship with ODM leader Raila Odinga.

Ruto is seen to be acting strategically when he decides to support Raila in his ambition to become chairman of the African Union Commission (AUC), as he anticipates that the latter would support his reelection campaign in 2027.

Some observers predict that the president may band together with the Nyanza and bigger Western bloc to support his candidacy.
