KNEC & Kenya Railways Announce Vacancies – How to Apply

The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) and Kenya Railways have announced various job vacancies within their departments.

KNEC has advertised six openings in the position of Examinations Officer – KNEC Grade 7. 

In a statement dated Tuesday, January 7, the organizations called on qualified individuals to apply for the advertised positions.

“The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) invites competent, self-motivated, and qualified applicants for the position of Examinations Officer – KNEC Grade 7 (6 Posts),” the statement read.

According to KNEC, interested and qualified candidates are required to fill out and submit the Application for Employment Form KNEC 2A for external applicants or the Application for Employment Form KNEC 2B for internal applicants.

Requirements during KNEC job application

Along with the application form, candidates must provide certified copies of academic and professional certificates, a comprehensive curriculum vitae (CV), daytime telephone contact details, email addresses, and names and current telephone contacts of three referees.

Applications should be submitted via post or hand delivery to ensure they reach the council by January 28, 2025. Applications should be addressed to:

Successful candidates will be offered a competitive remuneration package in line with the responsibilities of the role. The contract for this position is set for one year.

In the notice, the examination body emphasized the following points:

  • Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted. Any form of canvassing will lead to automatic disqualification.
  • Successful applicants will need to submit clearance under Chapter Six (6) of the Constitution of Kenya.
  • The appointment to this position is for a one-year contract.

Requirements required for Kenya Railways job application

According to Kenya Railways, interested candidates must submit their applications using the prescribed format, Form KR/HR/08, available on the Kenya Railways website.

The application should also include testimonials, certified copies of certificates, a National Identification Card (ID), and a Curriculum Vitae (CV).

Applications must be received by 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 28, 2025, via email at careers@krc.co.ke.

Applicants are advised to indicate the job reference number on the envelope and the application letter. They should provide a detailed CV, current remuneration details, and names of three referees. Certified copies of academic and professional certificates are mandatory.
