Nairobi County MCA accused of seducing, impregnating school girls
Munga, who spoke to the Nairobian on phone, said that the allegations were baseless and aimed at tarnishing his name.
Kabiro Ward MCA Clarence Munga has strongly denied allegations circulating on social media that he is seducing and impregnating young girls in his ward. The claims, which have caused a stir among residents of Dagoretti North Constituency, have been dismissed by the MCA as baseless and malicious attempts to tarnish his reputation.
Speaking to The Nairobian over the phone, Munga refuted the allegations, stating that those behind the rumors were determined to undermine his credibility and good work in the community. “Those claims are not true, and I dare anybody with proof to present it,” he said. Munga emphasized his commitment to serving the people of Kabiro and working towards the development of his ward.
The allegations surfaced on social media earlier this week, with posts accusing Munga of being involved in romantic affairs with young women and underage girls in the area, some of whom are alleged to be secondary school students. According to the claims, the MCA had been bribing the parents of some victims with bursaries and other benefits to silence them and prevent them from pursuing justice.
Additionally, some residents alleged that Munga had physically attacked his wife after she confronted him about the accusations, a claim that he vehemently denied.
Community Reaction
The allegations have sparked outrage and concern among some residents of Kabiro Ward. Many parents have voiced their worries about the safety and well-being of their daughters, demanding accountability and an investigation into the matter.
“I am a resident and voter in Kabiro, Dagoretti North Constituency. I am also a parent here, and what is worrying us is the behavior of the area MCA, one Clarence Munga, who is now impregnating our daughters and then threatening parents,” one resident wrote on social media.
Another resident alleged that some of the girls involved were still in school and too young to consent to such relationships. The post further claimed that Munga used his position to manipulate and silence affected families by offering bursaries, financial assistance, and other forms of bribery.
“What does it mean for a community when an elected leader, once seen as a figure of integrity, engages in behavior contrary to the law?” posed Rashid Kamau, another resident of Kabiro.
Kamau added that the MCA’s alleged actions had eroded public trust and caused distress within the community. He joined other residents in calling for the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) to probe the matter thoroughly and ensure justice for any victims involved.
Munga’s Defense
Despite the uproar, Munga has remained steadfast in his denial of the accusations. He maintains that he has always conducted himself with integrity and is focused on improving the livelihoods of Kabiro residents. He has called on his detractors to present credible evidence if the allegations are true, arguing that the accusations are politically motivated.
“These baseless claims are aimed at distracting me from my work. I will not allow lies to derail my mission to serve the people of Kabiro,” he said.
The allegations have brought to light broader concerns about ethical standards in leadership and the conduct of elected officials. As calls for an investigation grow louder, many in the community are waiting to see if the authorities will intervene to establish the truth behind the claims.
