Uhuru Dedicates Song to Wife on His Birthday

Retired President Uhuru Kenyatta while celebrating his 63rd birthday dedicated a song to his wife and former first lady Margaret Kenyatta.

Uhuru in a phone interview with the radio presenter Muthoni wa Kirumba dedicated “I got you babe” song by UB40 to his wife.

In the interview on Saturday afternoon, Uhuru had initially asked the presenter to play him “Hakuna Mungu ka wewe” by Rose Nduku before requesting the UB40 song as a dedication to his wife.

“However, if you allow me, I would also like to use this opportunity to send a song to my wife,” he said.

“You’ve sent me one song, and I would like to send one to my wife the song “I Got You Babe” by UB40″.

Uhuru Dedicates I Got You Babe Song to Wife

Part of the song lyrics read:

They say we’re young and we don’t know
Won’t find out until we grow
Well, I don’t know, babe, if that’s true
‘Cause you got me and baby, I got you

Babe, I got you babe
I got you, babe

They say our love won’t pay the rent
Before it’s earned our money’s always spent
I guess that’s so, we don’t have a lot
But at least I’m sure of all the things we’ve got

Babe, I got you babe
I got you, babe

I got flowers in the spring
I got you to wear my ring
And when I’m sad, you’re a clown
And when I get scared, you’re always around

So let them say your hair’s too long
I don’t care, with you, I can’t go wrong
Then put your little hand in mine
There ain’t no hill or mountain we can’t climb

Babe, I got you babe
I got you, babe
