What's Cooking? Concerns as MP Ndindi Nyoro Fails to Sign Gachagua's Impeachment Motion
Nyoro had been one of the vocal MPs against Rigathi Gachagua in the region and has been one o Ruto's most trusted foot soldiers from the Mt Kenya region. But the absence of his name from the list supporting Gachagua's impeachment raised suspicions from Kenyans, who wondered why the UDA MP had not availed his name
Kenyans were on Tuesday afternoon, treated to a rare scenario inside Kenya's national assembly after the names of 291 MPs who appended their signatures supporting DP Gachagua's impeachment motion were read by Kibwezi West MP Mwengi Mutuse.
Among the key notable MPs from the Mt Kenya region who were at the frontline supporting the motion included Kikuyu MP Kimani Ichungwah, Mathira MP Eric Wamumbi, and Murang’a Woman Rep Betty Maina among other MPs from Rift Valley, Nyanza, North Eastern, Western and Coastal regions.
However, among the notable names missing from MP Mutuse's list was Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro. As Mutuse read the names of the 291 MPs who were in support, Nyoro's name was notably missing from the list, sending questions among Kenyans.
Despite this, three Members of Parliament from Kalonzo Musyoka's Wiper Democratic Movement namely: Hon. Charles Ngusya Nguna, Hon. Patrick Makau and Hon. Robert Basil defied the party leader's position regarding the impeachment of Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua and availed their signatures.
Despite the party boss’s opposition, the MPs have proceeded to sign the impeachment motion, signaling internal division and disloyalty within the party ranks. Other notable leaders who supported the motion despite being close to Gachagua included nominated Jubilee MP Sabina Chege, Kesses MP Julius Rutto, Musa Siram o EldamaRavine, and Johana Ng'eno o Emurua Dikkir among others from the Rift Valley region.
Others claimed that Nyoro could be strategizing himself to take over from Ruto in 2032, hence the need to cleverly abstain and avoid scenarios where he could be at the crossroads with Mt Kenya residents
Here are some of the reactions from Kenyans over Nyoro's absence from the list;
